Until today, I was avoiding posting Mandrake strips.

Summary: As Flash, Dale and Zarkov emerge from the depths of Coralia with one of Mingo’s rocket ships in their possession (see D2-138 Water World on Mongo), Ming’s forces are on a planet-wide alert to find and kill Flash Gordon, whose reputation as a freedom fighter by now threatens the very fabric of Ming’s empire.

Deciding to seek refuge in the treetop kingdom of Arboria, the trio must still pass through some very hostile territory – as a sense that they are in fact re-enacting a distant past is growing stronger and stronger...

As our friends work out a survival strategy, their ship is remorselessly drawn into the violent sea by a magnetic force until it disappears into the murky depths...

Still trying to escape the clutches of Ming the Merciless, the trio embark on yet another long journey to escape their pursuers, but find that potential allies are more interested in turning them in than forming an alliance against their common enemy...

Summary: Re-enacting their first adventures on Mongo after a freak accident in Dr Zarkov’s Earth laboratory (see D2-135 The Origin of Flash Gordon), Flash and Dale try to evade Ming's soldiers by using the underground caverns in the company of a band of freedom fighters.

As the long and perilous journey gets underway, dissent brews within the group as one of the freedom fighters loses his brother in a vicious fight with a cave monster and blames the tragedy on the ‘Earthlings’...
